Amelia's story

Share

Blood donors made Amanda's five year old daughter Amelia's neuroblastoma treatment possible.

"The 26th September 2014 is a date I will unfortunately never forget. It was the day my two and half year old daughter Amelia was diagnosed with stage three neuroblastoma. During her treatment at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, Amelia went through six months of chemotherapy and needed four red cell transfusions and two platelet transfusions.

"Amelia is now five and has been in remission for over two years. She is doing very well and is very excited about Santa visiting. I am so grateful to everyone who gives blood and platelets. Your special gifts make all the difference to children like my daughter, so thank you.”

Thank you so much to Amanda and Amelia for letting us share their story. We’re sure Santa will have you on the nice list.
