Can you give blood at a donor centre this week?

In the last 6 days we have lost 656 donations due to weather disruption. With the extreme weather continuing across the North of Scotland, it’s more important than ever to keep blood stocks healthy.

All blood donation across Scotland is by appointment only. Appointments are bookable by calling 0345 90 90 999, or through your online donor account.

In the coming weeks and months, you will notice some changes to where and when we collect blood in West Lothian.

We are pleased to announce we will continue to collect plasma for medicines.

Gordon has made over 100 donations. He celebrated by bringing some sweet treats to Aberdeen Donor Centre, made by the niece who inspired him to start giving blood 20 years ago.

Not all blood types can be given to all patients and we must keep 6 days stocks of all 8 blood groups, but how do we do it? Let's share with you the balancing act that is blood stocks!
