Amazing Lilly-Anna receives her 100th blood transfusion
Family, friends and staff at Kirkcaldy's Victoria Hospital celebrate Lilly-Anna receiving her 100th blood donation.
Lilly-Anna suffers from Diamond-Blackfan anaemia syndrome a very rare blood disorder that affects people’s bone marrow, preventing bone marrow from producing enough red blood cells. Lilly-Anna has been receiving blood transfusions since she was six months old to help her live a healthy life.
Mum Frankie says 'Blood transfusions give Lilly the freedom and the life to be a normal, happy child and to have the energy to match her peers as well.'
Lilly-Anna's blood group is B Positive and has received regular transfusions over the past five years. If you're a B Positive blood donor, one of your donations could have been an incredible gift for Lilly-Anna, her friends and family.
Everyone at SNBTS would like to send our thanks and very best wishes to Lilly Anna and her family.
Thank you to blood donors for making this possible.
- If you've been inspired by Lilly-Anna's story, you can book your appointment to give blood.
