Share

Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Humza Yousaf, showed support for patients, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) and NHS Scotland today by giving blood at Dundee Blood Donor Centre.

The Cabinet Secretary's donation is particularly welcome at this point - during the school half term, donations can drop off by as much as 20% as people are busy with other activities.

Mr Yousaf said, 'I am proud to be a blood donor and had a great experience giving blood at Dundee Donor Centre today. Ninewells Hospital, where Dundee Donor Centre is based, is known to everyone in Dundee, and it's easy to book your appointment there online. I also very much enjoyed meeting staff'.

Mr Yousaf alongside SNBTS Associate Director Debbie McNaughton and Donor Recruitment and Publicity Officer Gwen Fenton.

SNBTS Associate Director Debbie McNaughton said, 'It was great to welcome the Cabinet Secretary today. Dundee Donor Centre is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and we would love as many people as possible to join him and book an appointment.'
