Changes to Aberdeen Blood Donor Centre opening hours

Share

From 5th April 2020, Aberdeen Blood Donor Centre will open on Sundays.

Sunday sessions will take place from 10am to 12pm and 1:10pm to 4:10pm, in addition to the usual Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday sessions.

Each year we must welcome 16,400 donors in the North-East of Scotland, which works out at around 315 donors each week. To meet the needs of patients, we collect blood from across 36 communities, schools and workplaces in the Aberdeen area. These opportunities to donate are planned very carefully to keep blood supplies at safe levels, while considering feedback from donors in the area.

We hope the increased range of opening times, covering mornings, afternoons and evenings, will be suitable for your future appointments.

Our community sessions operate at different times to our donor centre and if you have difficulty reaching the centre, you may be able to find a more suitable time or location. Simply put your town or postcode into the 'where to give blood' searchbox on our homepage - this will bring up a list of the nearest sessions in your area.

We aim to retain 6 days of stocks at any time in order to meet the requirements of patients in Scotland.
