Charleston Academy students roll up sleeves to do something special

Share

Congratulations and huge thanks to Charleston Academy students who attended Inverness Blood Donor Centre to Give Blood prior to the Easter break.

Teacher Russell McFee who helped to coordinate the visit said, ‘After attending a recent school talk, many of the group felt motivated to do their bit.  Some of the students contacted me and asked if we could pull something together as a team in the hope that it might encourage others in the area to do the same.’

Russell continued, ‘As a school, we’ve got a massive sense of pride in our students.  Knowing that they’ve played their part in helping others in the wider community has created a real buzz amongst the group.  We’re already looking forward to arranging more visits to the donor centre in the future.  The whole booking process was easy to arrange and has been massively rewarding for all involved.’

Inverness Blood Donor Centre would love to invite more groups and organisations from to get involved and help to organise lifesaving and improving group donation sessions at the donor centre within Raigmore Hospital.

Organising a group donation is easy.  Your local SNBTS team will help you to coordinate specific time slots for your group and ensure there are plenty of refreshments afterwards - including the famous teacakes. A dedicated SNBTS team member will address your queries or requests and offer promotional support and provide talks on blood donation before booking appointments if desired. We aim for donations to take no longer than one hour, with exceptions.

Inverness blood donor centre is open on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
