Children at session

Share

Children aged 12 and over are welcome to attend session with parent, carer or guardian.

Children under 12 can come to session if accompanied by a parent, carer or guardian who is not giving blood.

We welcome and value all donors young and old, but when considering children attending sessions we must ensure:

  • Safety of the child
  • Safety of the donor
  • Safety of other donors in attendance
  • Safety of clinic staff

Children under 12 years of age can attend a session, (if deemed appropriate for them to do so by their parent, carer or guardian) under the following circumstances:

The child must be accompanied, at all times, by a parent, carer or guardian who is not scheduled to donate. This person is responsible for the child.

If both adults accompanying the child wish to donate, please ensure there is at least an hour between appointments to ensure the child is not left unattended.

We will try our very best to provide seating. Seating availability can very depending upon the collection venue.

We understand this can be challenging for some donors and based on your feedback we have reduced the age from 14 to 12 for children attending. We are very grateful for your continued support.

Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
