Metallica: Back in Scotland and supporting blood donation
With their M72 tour hitting Hampden Park in Glasgow on 25 June 2026, Metallica are partnering with all four UK blood donation services because they know, if you need blood, "Nothing else matters."
A spokesperson for the band said: "Wherever we perform, we want to give something meaningful back to the communities that welcome us. We’ve seen how working with blood services in other countries can make a real difference, and we're pleased to bring that to the UK.
"Encouraging people to donate blood is about looking out for one another. It's a simple act that can have a powerful impact."
The partnership takes its cue from the idea that many people are already 'Hardwired' to help others, even if they haven't donated before. You don't need to be a 'Master of Puppets' to make a difference - just someone willing to roll up their sleeve.
For some, giving blood for the first time might bring an 'Unnamed feeling' – a quiet sense of having done something worthwhile. Tattoos and piercings are not usually a barrier, provided there has been a four month gap. It is quick to check and easy to book, 'Wherever you may roam' – just look up scotblood.co.uk
