Paperless pilot: Important news for Edinburgh and Glasgow Donor Centres

Share

In an effort to reduce our environmental impact and continue to improve our service to donors, we are trialing a new way of contacting you when it is time to give your next donation.

From the 15th July 2024 for two weeks, we are trialing a pilot to reduce our paper usage at Edinburgh and Glasgow Donor Centres. If you receive an email when it is time to give your next donation, please read it carefully. It will explain you will no longer receive the donor health check form in the post, you'll simply receive a printed version when you arrive at session.

What is the donor health check form?

If you have donated blood before, you will be familiar with the health check form that you fill out before your donation. This form goes through your medical, lifestyle and travel history to ensure you are feeling fit and in good health each time you come to give blood. Previously, these were posted to you to fill out and bring to your appointment. However, to fulfill our aim to improve our service to donors and minimise paper usage, we are trailing only providing the health check form at your arrival of session.

So, what does this mean for me?

You will simply receive a printed version of the paper health check questionnaire when you arrive at session. You can review the questions on the Health Check Form online, but remember this is sample only - please do not print. If you have any concerns about your ability to donate, please contact us.

As a valued blood donor, your donations are incredibly important in saving lives across Scotland. Your support and co-operation in this pilot program are greatly appreciated.
Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
