Position statement: Ukraine

Thank you for your concern for those affected by the current situation in Ukraine.

At this time, Ukraine has not requested support for blood supplies. We will monitor this situation carefully and be responsive to requests should the situation change.

Should we be asked for support, it is likely that there will be some very specific requirements and in order to accommodate these we would initially supply from our existing stocks and contact specific donors to replenish them. 

It is important blood and platelet donors continue to donate as normal.

Blood stock levels in Scotland are at healthy levels. If the situation changes, our requirements may also change.  We will publish any information on the blood groups we need immediately on our website; our Twitter and Facebook pages, and through the media.
