Scotland’s Festive Blood Stocks Levels - An Update

Share

Scotland’s hospitals are currently well stocked and all patient demand is being met.

Supplies for blood, platelets and plasma are at safe levels going into Christmas. This is thanks to the huge support we have had from Scotland’s blood, platelet and plasma donors. Thank you to the donors of Scotland for making this possible.

We do need donors to come forward over the remainder of the festive period, and into the New Year. We particularly need to welcome donors who can donate at Donor Centres on dates such as Boxing Day, Hogmanay and 2 January. All five donor centres are open on these dates.

We would like as many people as possible to start giving blood. Please do think about making this your 2025 New Year's resolution and encourage friends, family and colleagues to do the same.

You can see Scotland’s daily bloodstock levels below.

We aim to retain 6 days of stocks at any time in order to meet the requirements of patients in Scotland.
