Wellbank village give blood

Wellbank Village Hall opened its doors and welcomed 63 donors from the DD5 and DD4 postcode area on Thursday 12 May 2022.

During the pandemic donors in this area haven't had an opportunity to give blood, as their local venue (David Lloyd Sports Centre) was closed for the duration.

It was fantastic to welcome back so many familiar faces, along with the seven new donors giving their first donation.  Collective donations given on the night added up to a massive 1,257 donations. Each donation can help save or improve the lives of up to three people - that's an amazing 3,771 patients.

There are eight major blood types, and we aim to retain six days stock at any time in order to meet the needs of patients in Scotland.  Do you know your type?  If you've never given blood before then why not book an appointment today? We look forward to giving you a warm welcome.
